چکیده

We analyze the technique used by Adams and Kechris (2000) to obtain their results about Borel reducibility of countable Borel equivalence relations. Using this technique, we show that every Σ1 equivalence relation is Borel reducible to the Borel bi-reducibility of countable Borel equivalence relations. We also apply the technique to two other classes of essentially uncountable Borel equivalence relations and derive analogous results for the classification problem of Borel automorphisms.

Borel complexity of isomorphism between quotient Boolean algebras

See [Oli04]. In [AdKech00], Adams and Kechris showed that the relation of equality on Borel sets (and therefore, any Borel equivalence relation whatsoever) is Borel reducible to the equivalence relation of Borel bireducibility. (In somewhat finer terms, they showed that the partial order of inclusion on Borel sets is Borel reducible to the quasi-order of Borel reducibility.) Their technique was...

Countable Borel equivalence relations, Borel reducibility, and orbit equivalence

ing from the proof given above for Gaboriau-Popa we obtain theorems such as: Theorem 2.10 Let (X, d) be a complete, separable metric space equipped with an atomless Borel probability measure μ. Suppose Γ acts ergodically by measure preserving transformations on (X,μ) and the action on (X, d) is expansive. Let (Et)0<t<1 be a collection of distinct countable Borel equivalence relations on X with:...

Products of the Universal Treeable Relation, I

(see Hjorth-Kechris [96], Jackson-Kechris-Louveau [00]) and, before the results in Adams-Kechris [00], this gave the only examples of distinct (up to ∼B) non-smooth countable Borel equivalence relations, 4 of them to be exact. In this note, we point out that there is in fact one more strict inequality in the above chain, thereby establishing a 5th distinct example in that list. Theorem 1 E∞T ×E...

Linear Algebraic Groups and Countable Borel Equivalence Relations Scot Adams and Alexander S. Kechris

This paper is a contribution to the study of Borel equivalence relations on standard Borel spaces (i.e., Polish spaces equipped with their Borel structure). In mathematics one often deals with problems of classification of objects up to some notion of equivalence by invariants. Frequently these objects can be viewed as elements of a standard Borel space X and the equivalence turns out to be a B...

Nordsieck representation of high order predictor-corrector Obreshkov methods and their implementation

Predictor-corrector (PC) methods for the numerical solution of stiff ODEs can be extended to include the second derivative of the solution. In this paper, we consider second derivative PC methods with the three-step second derivative Adams-Bashforth as predictor and two-step second derivative Adams-Moulton as corrector which both methods have order six. Implementation of the proposed PC method ...
